Overflow: An Anime About Love, Love, and Everything else that Will Make You Want to Be in Love, a new anime adaptation of the hit manga series, has been greenlit for a 2018 premiere, according to the online streaming service.
Created by director and character designer Shiho Nakamura, the series is being produced by FUNimation and will be broadcast in the fall of 2018.
The series stars Atsushi Fujita as the character designer and Yuuka Itou as the director.
Nakamura previously worked on anime series like Ghost in the Shell and Neon Genesis Evangelion.
Funimation has not released any information about the series’ plot.
Its story follows the “unfamiliar world” of the Neon Genesis anime, which has been adapted into a live-action film and is now streaming on Hulu.
The anime is also being released by Netflix in Japan.
Aeon: Flux is the third TV anime to receive the greenlight, following the launch of the original Neon Genesis Genesis Evangelions: Afterlife series, and the second season of the anime adaptation for the video game Evangelion: 2.0 You Are Nowhere.
Funimation has previously made several anime adaptations of the series, including the original Eva, The Last Batch, and Neon Gaiden.
